The Bits that didn’t Fit is a collection of short stories by Jonathan (Jamrag) Griffiths, available for a short time to Proud Scum fans at the highly discounted rate of only $6.00.
At this price you don’t need to read the whole book. Just read the stories you like and rip out the rest for toilet paper.
The opening story, Going Down, is a highly fictionalised account of the rise and fall of rival punk bands “Loud Scum” and “Rooted”. It was first published in 2002 under the name of Vans, in Mysterex magazine and has been further developed for this collection. It’s a story of rock n roll, rivalry, racial tension and the perils of playing out of town.
Other favourites include Promises and Promiscuity, a sexier version of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Holidays in the Sun, a tale of sun burn, diarrhoea, terrorism and repressed emotions.
